PUNTA DE MITA

Punta de Mita is a peninsula at the tip of Banderas Bay, about an hour from the Puerto Vallarta Airport.

The area is one of dichotomies.

You can find multi-million-dollar mind-blowing villas within the gated community of Punta Mita Resort, which includes the exclusive St. Regis and Four Seasons Punta Mita.

However, if you are looking for something less swanky, the area used to be a small fishing village, and in some communities, it has retained its roots.

Punta de Mita and a few of its comminutes (El Anciote and Emiliano Zapata) have small condo projects and single-family homes for sale on or near the beach.

When it comes to adventures, there are plenty, no matter where you live. Just offshore are the protected islands of Las Marietas, a national park and bird sanctuary. It’s also home to the famous Hidden Beach or Playa del Amor.

There are two Jack Nicklaus golf courses here, but you’ll need to be an owner or guest of Punta Mita to gain access.
